Hadleigh's friend came over after school on Thursday. They had soccer practice that night, so we took her friend with us.
I noticed that they had been quiet and after a little while, that Sweetie had a new look. I found out that the girls gave her a makeover.

February 20th was a very busy day. We had three birthday parties to attend. The first was in Springfield, IL, which is 3 hours away. It was for my cousin's little girl's first birthday. Macey was so adorable and I'm so glad that we were able to attend and to finally see their beautiful home.
Before we stopped at their house, we drove through Springfield to show the kids the capitol building.

The last party of the night. This was for my sweet little cousin and goddaughter, Brooke. It was a surprise party for her 21st birthday. It was at a local bar and Jerry and I went for a couple of hours while the kids stayed at Claire's party.

I loved looking at these photos of Brooke. If you look at the middle and lowest hanging cookie sheet, you will see a photo of a bride with a little girl. That's me with Brooke as my flower girl. It was 14 1/2 years ago!
Valentine's Day this year just didn't turn out like we had planned. That morning, Ashton was really wheezing and coughing. His inhaler didn't help him and we also did a back to back treatment with his nebulizer and that didn't work either. We ended up taking him to the ER. They took a chest x-ray, gave him an hour long breathing treatment and they tested him for influenza. The chest x-ray came back okay and he was negative for the flu. When we left, he was still a little wheezy and they said if he got bad again, to come back. We continued the breathing treatments at home and I took him to his Dr. the next day. We had to do round the clock every 3 hour breathing treatments. He finally went back to school on Thursday for part of the day. We had a check up during the day too. He went back on Friday for a full day. He's doing much better!
So, since we didn't get to make our homemade pizzas on Valentine's Day, we had them on Monday. They did get a few gifts from us and my parents. We got Ashton and Sawyer some Transformers that they wanted and Hadleigh got some zhu zhu pets. They also got a little bit of candy. We didn't go overboard though. They had a good day, despite the ER visit cutting into our day.
This is the only picture we took that day. Jerry actually took it, because it summed up how exhausted we all were.
Each year the high school cheerleaders put on a fundraiser for their squad. It's a cheer camp for kids in grades K-8. This year the camp was after school on Friday. They stayed until 8pm. They fed the kids and worked on their cheers, stunts, and dance routine for their big performance. Each camper got a t-shirt and a bag. Hadleigh really enjoyed it.
They performed during the high school basketball game on February 13th. The kids were all so excited and so cute! I think I heard that there were 59 kids that participated.

On February 12th, the elementary school had their classroom Valentine's parties. I helped in Sawyer's class, but snuck out to drop in on Hadleigh's and Ashton's parties.

I popped into Ashton's classroom next. This was bittersweet because it was his last classroom party ever. I can't believe that, because it feels like he just started Kindergarten. Next year, he'll be in 6th grade and in middle school and they don't have classroom parties, so this is the end of the road for him. One last year of writing out and folding the Valentine's. We had so much fun each year picking them out.
For his craft, they decorated a wooden picture frame. My good friend took each child's picture at the party. I love that because we did it when they (the 5th graders) were in Kindergarten and now I'll have a photo of him at his Kindergarten and 1st Valentine's party and his 5th grade and last Valentine's Party.
Hadleigh also had the picture with the decorated frame for her Kindergarten Valentine's Party and I did the same with Sawyer's class. I'll have to make sure that we do that for their 5th grade party as well.

I love how pretty the sky is when the sun is rising. I thought the sky was beautiful this particular morning and I loved how the grain elevator in town stood out.

We had more snow last week and Jerry made a snow hill for the kids. We were supposed to get a blizzard, but that didn't happen. We did get a couple of inches, but nothing major. At least it was enough to make a hill.
You can't see the hill because it blends in with the background, but Marty was so excited to play in the snow and I had to take his picture.
The kids definitely enjoyed it!
A couple of days later it had melted a little bit. We did get a dusting again.
I took this one morning after the wind was brutal all night. I loved how the snow kind of looked like waves. I took this out of my bathroom window, so it's not the best picture. If you look closely, you can see the wind blowing the snow across the road.

We went to my parent's house for the Super Bowl this year. I love the Super Bowl because of the commercials, food and I just enjoy watching football.
The commercials are my favorite part though. This year, I loved quite a few of them. I think the Dorito's commercials were so funny, especially the one where the dog takes off his shock collar and puts it on his owner. We all cracked up during that one. I also loved the Budweiser Clydesdale commercial, as always.

We had a soccer free weekend this past Saturday and Sunday so we took the kids to a local hotel for 1 night so they could swim. We surprised them and they had so much fun swimming!
