First horse show of the year

Hadleigh had her first horse show of the year on May 2nd.  She did two divisions for this show.  She did the cross poles division, which she did last year, and then the 1'6 division.  The 1'6 is new to her for this year's show.

It was so muddy from all of the rain the day before, but at least it wasn't raining on the show day.

Hadleigh won a 1st place ribbon, a 2nd place ribbon and she earned Champion for the cross pole division!  It was her first time winning a first place ribbon, and definitely her first time winning Champion!  She was so excited and we were so proud of her!  She won a 5th place ribbon in the other class.  They only place the top 6 and there were probably 15 in her divisions.  She was the youngest and going against preteens, teens and adults.  She did great!  She loves it so much!

Hadleigh is on a travel club soccer team this year.  It's an all girls team and they are doing so good.  If they all stick with it over the next few years, they will have an amazing team!

Free Nights

I absolutely LOVE free nights!  Now that all three kids are in activities and Ashton and Hadleigh are doing club soccer, we are busy.  I cherish those rare nights that we don't have anywhere to go.  We usually have Fridays free and that is it.  

This particular Friday was beautiful.  The kids played outside and I made from scratch pizzas.  It was so nice.

Museum of Science and Industry

Ashton's 5th grade field trip was to the Museum of Science and Industry.  They only picked 2 moms to go and out of 12 that signed up to go, my name was one pulled from the hat. I couldn't believe it because I never win.  I was so excited to go with Ashton's class and to see the museum again.  I hadn't been there since I was in high school.

We didn't get to see everything, but we were able to hit a lot of exhibits.  The kids and I had a wonderful time.  I was very happy that I was able to go on their last (parent chaperoned) field trip.   I think Jerry and I need to take the kids one day soon.  I think they all would enjoy it.   

          

Ashton's first away soccer tournament

On April 24th and 25th, Ashton had a soccer tournament in Peoria.   It was cold and rainy, but they had fun.

 

They had to postpone one of the games due to lightning, so we waited inside the building for the worst

of the storm to pass
