Post holes were dug for the fence for the new pasture.
A few of the 90 plus posts
The posts are all in and the insulators and wire are up. We will eventually add boards so it will become a 3 rail fence, but boards and posts are expensive, so we are just doing the electric wire for now. I will paint the posts and boards when we put them up.
This is the start of the run in shelter. It's also now almost complete. It just needs painting and shingles.
Chicks have grown up. Remember our sweet little day old chicks? They are getting so big and are about ready to start laying. This picture was taken on the last day of May, so you can imagine how big they are now.
A new clothesline and posts were put up. I have to paint the posts and I'd like to add some gingerbread to the posts to give it some character. That's on my huge to do list. The kids love having somewhere to hang their towels while they are in the sprinkler.
We've also had a ton of this...
Our view from the car
We've been dry the past couple of weeks, but our late spring and early summer were very rainy.
i heart your farm life!!!! i love this post and seeing all the happenings on the farm!!!! gingerbread the posts????

Thanks! The little scrolly things that you see on porches, but I want to put them on the bottom of the T poles just to add some character. I wanted a cute clothesline. lol

Boy, looks like you guys have been busy this summer! What kind of chickens do you have? We have three barred rocks that are about to start laying any day now...they're our first chickens, so we're pretty excited!

How exciting for you Cheri! I bet you are loving having chickens. I love all of their personalities. I could watch them all day.
We have a few different breeds, such as: Barred Rocks, Cherry Eggers, White Leghorns, Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Araucanas, and we were supposed to get Delawares, but they didn't come in. We also have one Guinea. We've had her for a couple of years.
You'll have to let me know when they start laying.
