On Friday night, Jerry and I took our friends Greg and Amy to the White Sox game. Our friend and neighbor gave us the tickets in exchange for stone that we gave him for a project at home. I was raised a White Sox fan, but Jerry was raised a Cubs fan. I haven't been to a White Sox game since I was in high school and we went with my softball team. Jerry has never been to a White Sox game. These tickets came with some awesome perks. The seats were scout seats and they were incredible! We also were given a free parking pass, we had free dinner and drinks in the lounge before the game. They had a prime rib carver, fish, and a million other fabulous food items to choose from. During the game, we had a waiter that brought us drinks and anything we wanted from the menu like: nachos, pretzel, hot dog, etc. All of that was also free, and our waiter made sure our drinks were never empty. We also could have ice cream sandwiches, peanuts, and popcorn for free. They were in the hallway that led to the entrance to the scout seating area.
Jerry and I sitting on one of Ron Kittle's benches. He was there in the lounge when we first arrived and so was Minnie Minoso. Minnie was eating dinner at the table right behind us.
This is the walkway that was next to our seats. The umpires entered the field this way.
Ozzie
the players
This kid looked about 14. It really made me feel old. lol
During the game, Amy and I had to use the ladies room. We also thought it was a good excuse to look for Ron Kittle. We wanted to ask for his autograph. I had his card when I was a kid and he was my favorite player. We chickened out when we saw him when we first arrived into the lounge. We thought we would get to see him again. Anyway, we had fun talking to the security guards, running into Southpaw and getting hugs from him, and playing in the mirrors that made our legs look long and skinny.
We were like school girls cracking up and looking at ourselves in this mirror. One of the security guards laughed at us and we told him that we liked seeing our legs so thin. He said "Ain't nobody like bones but a dog!" lol We cracked up and thought it was so funny.
We looked for Ron a little longer and even sat on his bench thinking he might walk by. He never did.
We won, beating Boston 12-1 I think. I know that was the score at one point, but I didn't pay attention at the end. The fireworks show was awesome!
It was Chicago Blackhawks night, so that is why the Blackhawks logo is on the screen. They threw out the first pitch and threw out t-shirts. I guess Amy and I passed a couple of players when we were walking the hallway looking for Ron and being silly. The security guard told us we just walked by a couple of players. I don't know anything about hockey, so I didn't know the players at all. Amy didn't either. We were right across from the Boston Red Sox clubhouse, but when we were there during the game, nobody was entering or exiting it.
Jerry and I right before we left.
